You can connect your CIMS workspace to a supported AI assistant using the CIMS connection address.
No separate CIMS account is required. Each person connects using their own CIMS login.

Before you start

Make sure you have:
  • An active CIMS account.
  • Access to your CIMS workspace.
  • A supported AI assistant.
  • Available CIMS credits.

Find the CIMS connection address

In CIMS, go to:
Admin → Settings → API
The CIMS connection address is:
https://data.getcims.com/functions/v1/mcp
If you cannot access the API settings, ask a workspace administrator for access or contact your CIMS representative.

Add CIMS to your AI assistant

Open the AI assistant's settings and find its Connectors, Integrations or equivalent section.
Add a new connection and enter:
Name: CIMS
Connection address:
https://data.getcims.com/functions/v1/mcp
If the AI assistant asks for advanced connection settings, leave them empty unless your CIMS contact has provided different instructions.
The exact names and locations of settings can vary between AI assistants.

Sign in to CIMS

After adding the connection:
  1. Select Connect.
  2. Sign in using the same email address you use for CIMS.
  3. Approve access.
  4. Return to your AI assistant.
  5. Confirm that CIMS is connected.
Each person should connect using their own CIMS account.
The AI assistant will then use the CIMS access and permissions associated with that account.

Team and Enterprise workspaces

Some AI assistants require an organisation administrator or Owner to add a connection before individual users can connect.
In that case:
  1. The organisation administrator adds CIMS once.
  2. Individual team members connect their own CIMS accounts.
  3. Each team member uses their own CIMS permissions and access.

What if I cannot find the connection settings?

The exact interface depends on the AI assistant and may change over time.
Look for sections called Connectors, Integrations, Connections or similar.
If you cannot add a custom connection, check whether your AI assistant's organisation administrator needs to add it for you.
